New York Giants Waive TE Sean Berton: According to The Star-Ledger, the Giants have waived/injured TE Sean Berton, who tore a ligament in his knee in a game last December.

Quarterback Depth Situation Update: The Star-Ledger is reporting that the Giants have not offered contracts to rookie free agent quarterbacks Ryan Hart (Rutgers) and Gino Guidugli (Cincinnati). Both players were present at the Giants recently completed Rookie Mini-Camp on a tryout basis.

Meanwhile, The Ledger says the Giants could still add veteran QB Jay Fiedler in the coming weeks. Fiedler is recovering from a shoulder injury that he suffered with the Jets last season. The Ledger reports Fiedler will begin working out for teams in June.

Notes and Quotes: According to The New York Times, the Giants have told retailers to hold off on selling jerseys for WR Sinorice Moss (currently #89) because Moss’ number may change before the season starts. Moss wore #83 in college, a number currently being worn by TE Matt Kranchick.

MLB Antonio Pierce on the Giants’ 2006 defense: “We’ll rush the passer and we’ll stuff the run. I don’t think we are going to be any fun for any of the offenses in this league.”
