Injury Update -– TE Darcy Johnson Seriously Hurt: TE Darcy Johnson injured his knee in practice yesterday morning. Johnson partially tore his ACL and sprained his MCL. There was not immediate announcement on if Johnson’s season is over or how much time he would miss.

Not practicing yesterday were WR Plaxico Burress (knee), WR Marco Thomas (groin), TE Kevin Boss (shoulder), OC Todd Londot (ankle), CB Travonti Johnson (quad), S Michael Stone (hip), LB Gerris Wilkinson (knee), LS Ryan Kuehl (calf/Achilles), and PK Lawrence Tynes (calf).

Burress has not practiced since August 2nd, when he sprained his ankle. “I’ve never really sprained an ankle,” Burress said. “This is really the first time I’ve done that and it’s strong, I’m running straight ahead. I just have a little soreness that won’t go away. I just want to get rid of it all before I go back out there, because I don’t want to have any setbacks. I just want to heal enough the first time and not worry about it lingering or nagging during the regular season. It’s tough, I’m able to run and come off the ball, it’s just the quick moves that I have to make to get open and get separation. There is no need for me to get out there if I’m playing with pain trying to get through training camp. That doesn’t make any sense.”

DE Osi Umenyiora (hip), DE Justin Tuck (foot), and LB Barry Robertson (unknown) did not practice in the morning, but did practice in the evening. WR Amani Toomer (knee), S Craig Dahl (groin), and CB Gerrick McPhearson (groin) practiced in the morning, but not the evening.
