October 19, 2007 New York Giants Injury ReportThe injury report has not changed all week.  WR Plaxico Burress (ankle – questionable) did not practice yesterday.  HB Brandon Jacobs (ankle – questionable), HB Derrick Ward (ankle – probable), and WR Steve Smith (shoulder – questionable) were limited in practice.

Speaking of Smith, despite the fact the Giants’ official injury report says he was limited, Head Coach Tom Coughlin said, “Really there has been no limitation on him.  He has taken his reps all week long, so we will see.  We will see.”

Anthony Wright Has Moved Ahead of Jared Lorenzen on the Depth Chart:  Head Coach Tom Coughlin revealed yesterday that Anthony Wright is now the primary back-up at quarterback.  Lorenzen injured his ankle in the season-opener against Dallas and has been the #3, emergency quarterback on game day ever since.

When Jared injured himself and he was in that position Anthony got the majority of the snaps and he has just continued to do that,” said Coughln.  “Throughout the course of that week we just decided to stay like that…Right now Anthony is two and that is it.  There has been no real discussion about it.  We kind of look at it on a week to week basis and that is the way we are going to stay.”
