Injury Update – Wilson Will Not Play Against Eagles: Once again, not practicing yesterday were LB Antonio Pierce (ankle), S Gibril Wilson (knee), S James Butler (hamstring), and WR Plaxico Burress (ankle/knee). Wilson has been officially rule out of the game against the Eagles. Burress, Pierce, and Butler are "questionable" and will be game-time decisions according to Head Coach Tom Coughlin.
Michael Johnson will start in place of Wilson. Craig Dahl may have to play for Butler. Chase Blackburn will start if Pierce can’t go.
"I’ve been preparing for this every week for my entire career – I’m always ready"" Blackburn said. "(On Friday), I was talking to (Pierce) about Philly and everything they do. This would be his 15th time playing them, so I’m trying to get everything I can from him."
When Coughlin was asked if Wilson’s injury could be long term, he responded, "I don’t know, it will be, you would like to say day-to-day but it may end up being week-to-week. I don’t know. We will have to see how he does. It is all based on how fast he comes along."
CB Aaron Ross (hamstring) was limited in practice once again and is "questionable" for the Eagles’ game.
TE Jeremy Shockey (abdominal strain) was limited in practice, but he is listed as "probable".
HB Brandon Jacobs (hamstring) and WR Steve Smith (hamstring) fully practiced. Both are listed as "probable".
"At this point, the medical staff has not given me the green (light)," Jacobs said. "I expect a game-time decision…I’m not going to say I’m feeling better. I feel as good as I’m going to feel right now."
