Burress Hearing Adjourned, Prosecution Seeking Jail Time: As expected, WR Plaxico Burress received an adjournment in his case before a Manhattan criminal court yesterday. A new hearing date has been scheduled for June 15th. The added time allows both Burress’ lawyer and the Manhattan district attorney to reach a potential plea bargain that could reduce the amount of jail time that Burress could receive for his two felony weapons charges, stemming from the shooting incident in November 2008.

“There’s been a lot reported in recent days, a lot’s been said that I don’t think is necessarily accurate,” said Burress’ attorney. “As we speak there is no agreement of any kind. We’re trying our best to see if there is a way to resolve the case.”

Newsday is reporting that the prosecuting district attorney is open to an agreement but is insisting that Burress spend at least a year in jail.
