BBI “2008 Player of the Year” Trophy Awarded: The “BBI 2008 Player of the Year” trophy was awarded to halfback Brandon Jacobs yesterday after practice. Jacobs was deemed the winner of the award by vote of BigBlueInteractive.com (BBI) members earlier this year.

We would like to thank long-time BBI poster and friend rnargi for his efforts to keep this annual event going and selecting a top-notch trophy. We would like to thank HopeJ for helping to organize the event and Montreal Man for providing the introductory speech. And we would like to thank every BBIer who donated to help purchase the expensive trophy. And thank you to the Giants’ organization for agreeing to participate in the event. Thank you!!!!

Giants’ Beat Writer Practice Reports: The following are brief practice reports provided by the NY/NJ beat writers who cover the Giants:

Injury Update: Not practicing yesterday were DE Osi Umenyiora (knee), DT Rocky Bernard (hamstring/shoulder), DT Fred Robbins (knee), and LB Michael Boley (hip).

Robbins, who is recovering from microfracture surgery continues to insist that he will be able to play this season. “I’m pretty much a fast healer,” said Robbins. “I come back from things quickly. The whole offseason I haven’t had any problems with it as far as swelling or soreness. I’m happy about that. It’s nothing shocking, surprising. I’m where everybody expected me to be and where I expected myself to be.”

OG Rich Seubert (shoulder) was limited to individual drills.
