August 5, 2010 New York Giants Training Camp Reports: To see the latest BBI training camp reports, please visit the Training Camp section of the website.

Additional Training Camp Reports: The following media sources have also provided training camp reports:

Injury Report: Not practicing yesterday in either practice were WR Mario Manningham (groin), H-Back Travis Beckum (hamstring), OC Shaun O’Hara (ankle), S Kenny Phillips (PUP – knee), and OG Kevin Boothe (PUP – chest).

Head Coach Tom Coughlin said the Giants hope O’Hara will return to practice on Monday. “It feels a lot better,” said O’Hara. “The toughest part was not knowing what was going on and why there was swelling. It’s comforting to know it’s not anything super-serious. We’re taking it day-by-day to see how it responds and we’re trying to get the swelling out.”

S Deon Grant left the morning practice early with a groin injury; he did not practice in the evening.

Not practicing in the morning were WR Hakeem Nicks (toe/knee), TE Kevin Boss (ankle), DT Jay Alford (knee), DE Osi Umenyiora (hip), and LB Keith Bulluck (knee). All five practiced in the evening.

Alford will practice once per day now. “He’s sore and that’s to be expected,” Coughlin said of Alford, who is coming off knee surgery. “The next thing after the doctor discovers the soreness is probably to slow him down. So that’s what they’re doing.”

“It’s because of what happened in OTAs and minicamp when I had tweaked it that little bit,” Alford said. “Now we got full pads on so they’re a little bit nervous. It’s fine. Right now it’s just getting back into the groove of things. My timing is a little off but I feel it coming back.”
