New York Giants Put Jim Sorgi, Sinorice Moss, and Adrian Tracy on IR: In order to get down to the mandatory 75-man roster limit, the Giants made five roster moves yesterday.

The Giants placed QB Jim Sorgi (shoulder), WR Sinorice Moss (groin), and LB Adrian Tracy (elbow) on Injured Reserve, ending the season for all three.

Moss underwent a sports hernia operation yesterday. Tracy underwent surgery on Monday to repair ligament damage he sustained when he dislocated his elbow against the Ravens.

Head Coach Tom Coughlin was asked if Sorgi would need surgery, “Yes,” responded Coughlin. “I think he will. I’m not telling you anything that you haven’t already speculated on but I’d like him to get healed and get himself healthy so that may require that.”

The Giants moved OG Kevin Boothe from the Active Physically-Unable-to-Perform (PUP list to the Reserve PUP list, meaning he will miss at least the first six weeks of the season.

The Giants also waived WR Nyan Boateng.

August 31, 2010 New York Ginats Injury Report: Not practicing yesterday were: H-Back Travis Beckum (neck), OC Shaun O’Hara (ankle/Achilles), OG Kevin Boothe (PUP – pectoral), LB Chase Blackburn (knee), LB Gerris Wilkinson (groin), and CB Aaron Ross (foot).

The Giants said that Ross had the cast removed from his foot on Sunday and continues to rehab his torn plantar fascia.

Beckum was back on the sidelines after returning to practice on Monday. “He came out and had a one day thing and ended up with a sore neck again the next day,” said Head Coach Tom Coughlin. “He has to have more research done.”

RT Kareem McKenzie (migraine) returned to practice.
