Injury Update – Ramses Barden Likely Done for the Season; Steve Smith Out Until December: The injury news keeps getting worse for the Giants. WR Ramses Barden suffered both serious ligament damage and a fracture in his left ankle. His season is most likely over.

“He’s got a significant ligament injury in the ankle and he does have a fracture as well,” said Head Coach Tom Coughlin. When Coughlin was asked if Barden would be back this year, he responded, “That is unlikely right now.”

With Steve Smith (pectoral) out perhaps until early December (according to ESPN), and Victor Cruz (hamstring) on Injured Reserve, the Giants are very thin at wide receiver with only Hakeem Nicks, Mario Manningham, and Duke Calhoun healthy.

Coughlin also commented on three other players injured against the Cowboys. “Kevin (Boothe) at this point in time, it’s just a patella tendonitis issue (in his knee). (Kevin) Boss is very sore. They called it a lumbar sprain (in his back), whatever that means, but I would hope that he works his way through that and I think Jonathan (Goff) hyper-extended his elbow and hopefully that’s not an issue.”

Coughlin was asked if there was any word on OC Shaun O’Hara (foot) and LT David Diehl (hip/hamstring). “Not the word we want to hear,” responded Coughlin. “Both guys are feeling better, but how that figures into our plans for this week, I’m not sure.”
