Injury Report – Justin Trattou Injured: Not practicing yesterday were HB Da’Rel Scott (ankle), WR Hakeem Nicks (PUP – foot), TE Travis Beckum (PUP – knee), DT Chris Canty (PUP – knee), and LB Clint Sintim (PUP – knee).

“(Scott) did it (on Friday),” said Head Coach Tom Coughlin. “He went back and practiced on it, and it was swollen this morning, so they held him.”

“Hakeem is on schedule, as far as I know from our trainer, Ronnie Barnes,” said General Manager Jerry Reese. Reese later said on Sirius Radio that Nicks might return by the third preseason game.

Canty said yesterday he may be on the PUP for a while.

“Coach (Coughlin) says it’s going to be a while, it’s going to be a while,” Canty said. “He’s the man. Coach says it’s going to be a while, it’s going to be a while. The competitive nature of a player is to want to go out there and compete. So they have to protect us from ourselves sometimes…(I want to) make sure I’m in great condition, make sure my body is feeling great, make sure everything is ready to go. I did some running yesterday. I did some lifting yesterday and today. So that’s what we’ll do.”

DE Justin Trattou was carted off the field after injuring his ankle. The severity of the injury has not yet been made public.

“The ankle, he got an ankle,” said Coughlin. “He was hobbled pretty good there. They had to send him for X-rays. We’ll see what it is.”

CB Terrell Thomas (back) returned to practice.
