September 17, 2012 New York Giants Injury Report - David Diehl Suffers MCL Injury: OT David Diehl suffered an injury to the medial collateral ligament (MCL) in his right knee in the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. The severity of the injury is not yet known.
“I don’t know a heck of a lot,” said Head Coach Tom Coughlin. “I know he had some swelling and they were going to do the MRIs and all the testing. I can’t tell you anything right now.”
The Giants had a walk-thru practice yesterday. For their official injury report, they listed the following:
Did Not Practice: HB Ahmad Bradshaw (neck), WR Hakeem Nicks (foot), WR Domenik Hixon (concussion), OT David Diehl (knee), DE Adewale Ojomo (hamstring), and CB Michael Coe (hamstring).
“Coe has been in and out with his hamstring issues,” said Coughlin.
Limited: CB Prince Amukamara (ankle) and LB Keith Rivers (hamstring).
“Well, we’ll see (about Amukamara),” said Coughlin. “He did work last week as everybody knows and he did have one really good day I thought, a couple of days where we had some issues, so we’ll see how he is having been able to rest here and hopefully he’ll be a little bit stronger. Maybe perhaps play with a minimal amount of pain. We’ll just have to see.”
Full: HB Da’Rel Scott (knee).
Practice Squad Moves: The Giants have re-signed OT Matt McCants to the Practice Squad. To make room for McCants, the Giants terminated the Practice Squad contract of OC/OG Scott Wedige.
