Tom Coughlin Addresses the Media at the NFL Combine: The transcript and video of yesterday’s press conference with Head Coach Tom Coughlin at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis are available at Giants.com.

Injury Updates: Head Coach Tom Coughlin provided injury updates regarding the following players yesterday:

  • WR Hakeem Nicks (knee): “Good, saw him the other day. Eyes are big and bright again…I think he had a scope just to look it over.”
  • OC David Baas (unknown): “Baas has had a little surgery, yeah…On his body.”
  • OG Chris Snee (hip): “I don’t know if there’s a timetable (for his return after this week’s hip surgery). He’s in competition with some other guys telling them, ‘I’m going to get back faster than you are.’ He’ll be back as fast as he can. I don’t know if he’ll do a whole lot in the spring.”

According to The Star-Ledger, a source told the paper that Baas had “multiple procedures.” According to The Daily News, a source told the paper that Snee’s surgery was a “simple clean-up” of his partially torn labrum and bone spurs. The source said Snee is expected to be ready by the start of training camp.

Giants Supposedly Have Interest in Re-Signing Barden, But Will Let Him Test the Market: The agent for unrestricted free agent WR Ramses Barden told The New York Post that the Giants have an interest in re-signing the seldom-used player, but will allow him to first test his value on the open market. It appears the Giants do not want to make a significant financial commitment to Barden who in four seasons has only caught 29 passes for 394 yards and no touchdowns.

“We have spoken and they do have interest in re-signing him,’’ said Barden’s agent. “We agreed that he’ll test the market and see how it unfolds.”
