LIVE UPDATES: July 27, 2014 New York Giants Training Camp

Welcome to the fourth ‘Live Update Blog for the 2014’ New York Giants’ training camp. For Sunday’s (July 27) practice, you won’t need to go anywhere else to find everything you need to know regarding Big Blue!

In the past, your source for breaking news and live updates from practice was featured in a Corner Forum post. While the news eventually got there, there was a delay and some was lost between the transfer of copying tweets and posting over to the forum. Not to mention…it was an awful lot of work.

Not anymore.

Below you will find LIVE tweets as they happen. Don’t have a twitter? Don’t worry! They’ll still show up below for you as soon as they are sent out.

BigBlueInteractive.com knows you love the Corner Forum and being able to interact with your fellow Giants’ fans as practice takes place. We want to make that as easy possible for you. Instead of having to keep two windows open (this page and The Corner Forum page), we will open the comment section of this post throughout the duration of practice.

If you would like your photo to appear next to your comments, upload a photo to Gravatar.com.

Interact with fans just as you always have in the comment section, with the tweet-bar directly above. You’ll have your live updates and your interaction all in one place. We hope you enjoy!

Today’s Schedule:

  • 11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. – Players Interviews
  • 1:20 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. – Practice
  • After Practice – Tom Coughlin available on field

  1. If they could just get Beckham back on the field.

  2. “Andre Williams just ran over Hankins, then got flattened by Kuhn.”

Okay, now that was funny. Kind of like when Wile E. Coyote avoids getting hit by a train, and then gets hit by a truck.

  3. Dueling Hynoskis. So, who blew up whom, HH or DK?

  4. Welcome Hakeem? Seriously?

  5. Sounds like a great practice.

  6. CH…a mistake like that could cause The Great Pumpkin to pass you by.

    Praemonitus, Praemunitus.

  7. Big hole between Schwartz and Pugh? WTF, CH? Either Pugh is at LT or Schwartz is at RG…or what?

  8. Andre Williams caught a pass, and a tough one, to boot! There is a God after all.

  9. X-Man, Xed out. Heavy sigh.

  10. Practice in pads! Finally!

  11. One week from today…the Giants will be playing a football game. This year is flying by.

  12. Beating James Brewer doesn’t merit rave reviews, but it’s a step in the right direction.

  13. Good stuff on Damontre Moore from Cullen Jenkins.

  14. Yeah Eric I read it. I could see Hillis acting as FB. He’s got the size as does Gaskins. Not sure either blocks as well as Connor or Hynoski. He (Hillis) probably is the better receiver and more dangerous as such.
My problem with the article is why the TEs would have been told, like the FBs wouldn’t hear it.

  15. Section125… see the Conor Orr article…whispers they may not even carry a FB…

Giants looking into roster that won’t contain a fullback by Conor Orr of The Star-Ledger

  16. Is there a market for a starting FB? Hynoski and Connor are both deserving of starting, but only one will be kept.
Is either one worth a TE from another team?

  17. Nope, they may be moving inside.

  18. Wow. Check out Ranaan’s instagram photo. Doesn’t look too promising for an outdoor practice today.

  19. It works! Thanks, Eric!

  20. Klaatu,

If you load a photo to the following site:

    https://en.gravatar.com/

    It should show up here.

  21. Of greater importance, how do I put a little picture in my posts?

  22. I was just going to post something about Beckham… they obviously had yesterday off… so he’s had a few days of inactivity. They have to be careful with it, but he also desperate needs the reps.

  23. Eric, I suppose that if they feel that Hillis can fill both the RB and FB role, they might conceivably go without a traditional FB, but if it’s a case of an additional TE, I say bad move.

  24. If Beckham doesn’t practice today, expect a minor meltdown on BBI. Some are already predicting that he’s done for the year.

  25. Klaatu…same with me. You know I’m a big fan of John Conner. I think he’s one of the better traditional FB’s in the NFL. The guy is bulldozer.

  26. No FB? I know it was discussed by Oben and Dottino the other day, but I think it’s a bad idea. I’d rather have at least one good FB than an additional mediocre TE.

  27. Welcome to the fourth Live Updates on BBI!
