Jon Beason May Be Done for the Season: During an interview on WFAN Radio (audio) on Tuesday, linebacker Jon Beason said he was “50-50″ on whether to have season-ending surgery on his right foot. Beason suffered a ligament tear and fracture to the sesamoid bone in his right foot during an OTA practice on June 12. He aggravated the injury in Week 2 against Arizona and Week 7 against Dallas. He missed three games after the game against the Cardinals.

“In all honesty I’ve been playing without a crucial ligament in my big toe,” said Beason. “It’s progressively gotten worse over the last couple games.’’

A determination, Beason said, is expected on Wednesday.

“It takes one thing to get it feeling good, but can I be myself and be productive?’’ Beason said. “You try to get out there and help the team. Obviously right now things aren’t going well and we need to get it turned around immediately. We got the bye week and you want to take the time to decide if that’s the best course of action. Right now I’d say it’s 50-50, I’m still deciding if the smart thing is to go ahead and get it fixed and get ready for next season.

“We’ll do what we have to do to address the issue. If it’s not this year, it will be next year and you fix and you do what you got to do.’’

Beason said noted foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson will study the most-recent MRI and CT scan to determine what options are available.

“He’s gonna do what’s best for me,’’ Beason said. “At the same time he knows I want to play. If I can play I want to do whatever I can to make sure I’m on the field when we line up against the Colts the next couple of weeks.’’
