Defensive Coordinator Perry Fewell Will Interview with Redskins on Monday: According to The NFL Network, New York Giants Defensive Coordinator Perry Fewell will interview with Washington Redskins on Monday for Washington’s head coaching vacancy. The Redskins asked and received permission to interview Fewell this past week after Mike Shanahan was fired as Washington’s head coach. Fewell became the Giants’ defensive coordinator in 2010 after Steve Spagnuolo left the Giants to become the new head coach of the St. Louis Rams.

The Redskins interviewed Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Sean McDermott on Saturday. They previously interviewed Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell and Dallas Cowboys special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia. They are also believed to be interested in offensive coordinators Ken Whisenhunt of San Diego, Greg Roman of San Francisco and Jay Gruden of Cincinnati, plus Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer and offensive assistant Hue Jackson

December 26, 2013 New York Giants Injury Report: Not practicing on Thursday were WR Rueben Randle (knee), WR Victor Cruz (knee/concussion), TE Adrien Robinson (knee), OG Brandon Mosley (hand), DE Jason Pierre-Paul (shoulder), CB Trumaine McBride (groin), and CB Jayron Hosley (illness).

Cruz and Mosley have already been ruled out of the game against the Washington Redskins on Sunday. Mosley will have surgery on his broken hand on Friday.

“Rueben has a little bit of swelling in his knee, so they want to take a look at it,” said Head Coach Tom Coughlin. “Hopefully it’s not going to be much. Time to time he has some issues…In our work yesterday he kind of limped around a little bit, so they took him in and looked at it and it was a little bit swollen this morning.”

OG David Diehl (knee), DT Cullen Jenkins (shin/quad), and CB Terrell Thomas (knee) were limited in practice.

RB Andre Brown (concussion) and RB Peyton Hillis (concussion) fully practiced. “(Brown and Hillis) did well, both of them,” said Coughlin. “There didn’t seem to be any issues.”

The Giants surprisingly announced that Cruz underwent arthroscopic debridement on his left knee on Thursday afternoon. It is believed that the surgery removed damaged cartilage. December 5, 2013 New York Giants Injury Report: Not practicing on Thursday were TE Brandon Myers (groin), RB Brandon Jacobs (knee), and DE Jason Pierre-Paul (shoulder).

Myers was new addition to the injury report, but Head Coach Tom Coughlin and Myers both said they expect Myers to practice on Friday.

“Yeah, I came back yesterday and I was just a little sore,” said Myers. “Just giving it a little bit of rest and I’ll be back at practice tomorrow.”

On the other hand, it sounds like Pierre-Paul will miss his second game in a row. “I think Brandon Jacobs hopefully can do some things tomorrow,” said Coughlin. “Don’t expect JPP to do anything tomorrow.”

CB Terrell Thomas (knee), CB Trumaine McBride (groin), and CB Corey Webster (ankle) practiced on a limited basis.

“(McBride) worked a little bit today,” said Coughlin. “He worked 50 percent today.”

“I need (to see Webster) to be healthy and can consistently run full speed,” said Coughlin.

November 29, 2013 New York Giants Injury Report: Not practicing on Friday were DE Jason Pierre-Paul (shoulder), CB Trumaine McBride (groin), and RB Brandon Jacobs (knee). All three players have officially been ruled “out” of Sunday night’s game against the Washington Redskins.

“(Pierre-Paul) definitely was not himself last weekend,” said Head Coach Tom Coughlin, “and there are obviously some things to deal with there from a standpoint of the injury, so he hasn’t been able to practice this week. There’s an injury and he’s dealing with it. He certainly was sore after the Packers game (two weeks ago) and he really had a tough week. It was a tough week for him. He tried to go. He wasn’t able to do the things he wanted to do and that carried over into this week.”

CB Terrell Thomas (knee) and CB Corey Webster (ankle) practiced on a limited basis. Thomas is “probable” for the game while Webster has been ruled “out.”

Defensive Coordinator Perry Fewell was asked about being down two cornerbacks. “We’ll go with Jayron Hosley and we also have Charles James,” Fewell said. “They’ve practiced all week, so we’ll go that way.”

WR Hakeem Nicks (abdomen) practiced fully and is “probable” for the game.

November 21, 2013 New York Giants Injury Report – All In: No one missed practice on Thursday.

“All hands on deck today,” said Head Coach Tom Coughlin. “Some limited and some not able to go all the way, but most of them worked pretty good.”

DE Jason Pierre-Paul (shoulder), CB Terrell Thomas (knee), CB Trumaine McBride (hip), CB Corey Webster (groin/ankle), RB Brandon Jacobs (knee), FB Jon Conner (hip), and WR Hakeem Nicks (abdomen) practiced on a limited basis.

“(Nicks) did individuals, but that was about it,” said Coughlin. “They say it’s better to explain it as an abdominal, whatever that means.”

“I feel good. I did individuals today a little bit,” said Nicks. “It has just been something all year really, on and off. I was advised by my agent just to get it checked up a bit so that’s all we did. We just wanted to get it checked up and make sure everything was good. I got good feedback and everything was fine…It’s just a little strain.”

“(Pierre-Paul) came out and did some work and was serious about it,” said Coughlin. “He did his individual stuff and then maybe we’ll get him a little bit more tomorrow.”

“I don’t know what to think (about Webster),” said Coughlin. “I’ll rely on the medical people there. He got a little bit of work yesterday and a little bit more today.”

Quotes: New York Giants President and CEO John Mara on the Giants’ season: “We were all disappointed and surprised by the slow start. I am proud of the way this team stuck together. We always want to play meaningful games around and after Thanksgiving, and that’s exactly what we have this Sunday in MetLife Stadium. I’m proud of the way the team has stuck together. That is a tribute to the head coach and the leadership in the locker room. As the players and our head coach have said repeatedly over the last month, we are taking it one game at a time. We’re moving forward and, as our coach has urged the team to do, doing our best to keep the dream alive.”

Defensive Coordinator Perry Fewell on the leaders of the defense: “I think we’ve been able to dial some things up because Jon Beason and Terrell Thomas and Antrel Rolle have really taken control of our defense and they’re the voices of our defense and they’re demanding from their teammates the execution of the things that we’ve game planned each week.”

To fill their roster spots, the Giants activated RB Andre Brown off of the short-term Injured Reserve list and DT Markus Kuhn off of the Physically-Unable-to-Perform (PUP) list.

November 7, 2013 New York Giants Injury Report: Aside from RB David Wilson and DT Shaun Rogers, not practicing on Thursday were CB Trumaine McBride (groin) and CB Corey Webster (groin).

RB Brandon Jacobs (hamstring), WR Victor Cruz (neck), CB Terrell Thomas (knee), and CB Jayron Hosley (hamstring) practiced on a limited basis.

“(Jacobs) did some,” said Coughlin. “We’ll see what (his hamstring is) like (on Friday)…I don’t think you’d call it a setback. He just has some issues and you’re going to have to deal with them.”

TE Adrien Robinson (foot) fully practiced.
