New York Giants Still Talking to QB Jay Fiedler?: According to yesterday’s St. Petersburg Times, the Giants are one of three teams currently in negotiations for the services of unrestricted free agent QB Jay Fiedler. Fiedler’s agent identified the Giants and Buccaneers as two of the teams interested in Fiedler, but he would not mention the third.

Fiedler suffered an injury to his right, throwing shoulder last season with the Jets and has only recently begun to throw again. The Jets waived him in February and there have been a number of reports since that time that the Giants might be interested in signing him. In late May, General Manager Ernie Accorsi told The New York Post, “When the time comes, we’ll work him out. We’re interested in him.” However, a few days later, the Giants signed QB Rob Johnson. The Giants currently have five quarterbacks on the roster: Eli Manning, Johnson, Tim Hasselbeck, Jared Lorenzen, and Josh Harris.
