Notes and Quotes: According to The Daily News, since he became head coach of the Giants in 2004, Tom Coughlin and the Giants have placed 47 players on season-ending Injured Reserve.

CB Sam Madison on CB Aaron Ross: “As far as the concepts and the route-running and picking up the schemes of the defense, I think he’s done a 360-degree turn. Coming from college, he pretty much had no knowledge of the press defense. He never played the slot. It’s been really tough. When you play nickel, it’s one of the toughest positions on the football field, because you have to cover from sideline-to-sideline. But I think he’s doing very well. He still has a lot to learn. But he’s picked it up faster than I expected him to.”

LB Gerris Wilkinson on his goals: “I would like to get back into the swing of things and help out this team as best I can. I would like to be a starter. That’s not against anybody who’s playing now. That was my focus coming into the year. The sooner I can help the team, the better.”
