May 9, 2009 New York Giants Rookie Rookie Mini-Camp: The second and final day of rookie mini-camp practices was held yesterday at Giants Stadium. Players will participate in weight training sessions and meetings today before the camp officially ends. The rookies will return on May 18 to begin six weeks of strength training and conditioning.

The following are mini-camp reports from day two:

• Morning Practice – The Star-Ledger
• Afternoon Practice – The Star-Ledger

Giants Sign Six Tryout Players: The Giants signed six players who were invited to the rookie mini-camp on a tryout basis. Only two of the two are actually rookies:

• OC Alex Derenthal (Temple)
• DE Tommie Hill (Colorado State)

The other four players have varying degrees of NFL experience:

• RB Allen Patrick (’08 Oklahoma)
• WR Shaun Bodiford (’06 Portland State)
• TE George Wrighster (’03 Oregon)
• LB Kelvin Smith (’07 Syracuse)
