Giants’ Beat Writer Practice Reports: The following are brief practice reports provided by the NY/NJ beat writers who cover the Giants:

Injury Update: Not practicing yesterday in either practice were WR Hakeem Nicks (hamstring), WR Steve Smith (knee), OT Guy Whimper (toe), OG Kevin Boothe (pectoral muscle), OL Cliff Louis (ankle), DT Chris Canty (hamstring), DT Rocky Bernard (hamstring), DE Maurice Evans (leg), LB Michael Boley (hip), CB Corey Webster (hip flexor), and CB Aaron Ross (leg).

DE Osi Umenyiora (knee) and DT Barry Cofield (knee) did not practice in the morning, but did so in the evening.

DE/DT Justin Tuck (foot), RG Chris Snee (leg), and WR David Tyree (knee) practiced in the morning, but did not practice in the evening.

DT Fred Robbins (knee) practiced in the team portion of practice in the morning, but did not practice in the evening. “(Fred Robbins got a few snaps),” said Coughlin. “He is going to move along now from the individual part to taking part in one-a-day and he will get a percentage of the plays.”

OL Orrin Thompson and DT Anthony Bryant left the evening practice early with undisclosed injuries.

QB David Carr (arm), OC Shaun O’Hara (triceps), and S Sha’reff Rashad (hamstring) returned to practice.
