New York Giants Re-Sign Barry Cofield: According to Sirius Radio and ESPNNewYork.com, restricted free agent defensive tackle Barry Cofield has signed his 1-year, $1.759 million tender with the Giants.
The Giants have now re-signed all of their exclusive rights and restricted free agents that they chose to tender. They have no more remaining unrestricted free agents.
Norman Hand Passes Away: Norman Hand, a defensive tackle who played for the Giants in 2004 at the end of his 10-year NFL career, collapsed and died at his home in South Carolina yesterday. Hand was only 37 years old. The cause of death is not known yet. Hand was born in Queens.
