Ramses Barden to IR, New York Giants Re-Sign Derek Hagan: As expected, the Giants placed WR Ramses Barden on Injured Reserve yesterday. The move ends his season. Barden suffered torn ligaments and a fracture in his left ankle in last Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys.

With the wide receiving corps down to three healthy bodies, the Giants signed WR Derek Hagan to a 1-year contract yesterday. Hagan spent the entire 2009 season with the Giants as a reserve receiver and special teams contributor. The Giants waived him in early September in the last round of cuts before the current season began.

New York Giants Add Dwayne Hendericks to the Practice Squad: As reported earlier, the Jacksonville Jaguars signed DT Nate Collins off of the Giants’ Practice Squad last week. To fill that vacancy, the Giants have signed DT Dwayne Hendericks to the Practice Squad.

Hendericks was originally signed by the Giants as an undrafted rookie free agent after the 2009 NFL Draft. He spent time on the Giants’ Practice Squad last year and was waived in the last round of cuts before the current season began.

Articles on WR Ramses Barden:

Notes: In their last three games, the Giants totaled 497, 487 and 480 yards. This is the first time in team history the Giants have gained at least 480 yards in each of three consecutive games.

The Giants have not scored a first possession touchdown in their last 11 games dating back to last season. That is the NFL’s second-longest streak behind Buffalo (16).

The Giants are 6-0 this season when they hold their opponents to less than 100 rushing yards and 0-3 when they don’t.
