Shaun O’Hara Retires as a New York Giant: Shaun O’Hara, who played center for the New York Giants from 2004-10, retired from the NFL yesterday as a Giant. O’Hara also played for the Cleveland Browns from 2000-03.

“We were very proud to have Shaun O’Hara with us through the early years and the first Super Bowl and, of course, he’s been not only an outstanding football player, but a great citizen for the New York Giants,” said Head Coach Tom Coughlin. “He’s very bright. He always made all the calls. He’s very tough. He’s played through some things in his career that a normal athlete might not play with and we admire that greatly in him and we’re so proud and happy that when the decision came for Shaun was in free agency that he came with the New York Giants and he certainly made the best of that and he’s talking now about retiring as a New York Giant and I’m sure the Mara and the Tisch family couldn’t be happier about that.”

Video of the ceremony is available at NJ.com (Star-Ledger).

Giants Over the Salary Cap?: According to ESPN, the Giants are roughly $700,000 over the NFL’s salary cap and will have to make a roster move or re-structure a contract to get under the cap. The Giants have until Wednesday to do so.

Injury Report – Nicks Misses Practice Again: WR Hakeem Nicks (foot), CB Prince Amukamara (ankle), DT Marvin Austin (back), and OT James Brewer (back) did not practice yesterday.

“Well there’s no setbacks (with Nicks),” said Head Coach Tom Coughlin. “He didn’t work yesterday, so evidently they thought it was in the best interest not to make him any sorer than he is…I think he will (play against Dallas).”

“I know it’s for the better (to sit out practice),” said Nicks. “I know they just want to take care of my foot. We don’t want any setbacks.”

LB Mathias Kiwanuka (groin), DE Adrian Tracy (hamstring), and OT Will Beatty (back) were limited in practice.

HB Ahmad Bradshaw (hand), LB Michael Boley (hamstring), and CB Jayron Hosley (toe) fully practiced.
