HB Da’Rel Scott Has Knee Surgery: It was announced yesterday that HB Da’Rel Scott underwent a knee debridement (arthroscopic surgery) to repair the meniscus in his right knee. When asked if Scott might be headed to Injured Reserve, Head Coach Tom Coughlin responded, “We’ll see.”

Injury Report – Ahmad Bradshaw’s Foot Acting Up Again: Not practicing yesterday were HB Ahmad Bradshaw (foot), HB Da’Rel Scott (knee), DT Rocky Bernard (quadriceps), LB Michael Boley (hip), LB Jacquian Williams (knee), CB Corey Webster (hand/hamstring), and S Kenny Phillips (knee).

The disconcerting news is that Bradshaw’s foot is acting up again. “(Bradshaw is) not going to practice today,” said Head Coach Tom Coughlin. “He’ll practice tomorrow…It’s the same type thing (he had in the past)…I don’t want to go into that one-practice-a-week business that we’ve had. So, I’m hoping that this is something that he is able to overcome, and we see the end of it.”

It also sounds like Williams and Phillips will not play against the Washington Redskins on Sunday.

“(Williams) won’t practice this week,” said Coughlin. “It doesn’t look like he will.”

“(Phillips is) making progress, but he’s not ready to go,” said Coughlin.

WR Hakeem Nicks (foot/knee) practiced on a limited basis.

HB Andre Brown (concussion) fully practiced.

DT Chris Canty (knee), who is currently on the Physically-Unable-to-Perform (PUP) List, has begun practicing for the first time since before the Super Bowl in February. The team now has three weeks to activate him or place him on Injured Reserve.

“It was good to be out on the field with the guys,” Canty said. “I’ve got a lot of work to do, a lot to catch up on. That’s to be expected. (I have) a long ways to go before I can help and contribute to this football team, but I’m excited about being on the practice field with my teammates.”

When asked if he might play against the Redskins, Canty replied, “It just depends on the coaches’ evaluations of my performance out on the practice field, whether I can help the team or not, whether they decide to make their decision. It’s totally in their hands. I feel great. My body feels good. I’m healthy, so we’ll have to see about that.”

S Antrel Rolle Named “NFC Defensive Player of the Week”: S Antrel Rolle has been named the “NFC Defensive Player of the Week” for his performance against the San Francisco 49ers last Sunday. In the game, Rolle was credited with two interceptions and six tackles, including one tackle for a loss.
