New York Giants Interested in Chris Johnson?: According to press reports, the Tennessee Titans are expected to release RB Chris Johnson due to his high salary. Johnson has base salaries of $8 million (2014), $8 million (2015), and $7 million (2016) still left on his contract. The Titans have been trying to trade Johnson but his high base salaries have effectively deterred other teams from making an offer. Johnson has refused to accept a pay cut in order to facilitate a trade.

FOXSports is reporting that the New York Giants were one of the teams to inquire about Johnson with the Titans. FOXSports also says the Giants would be interested in pursuing Johnson if he is released. The New York Jets and Dallas Cowboys are also believed to be interested in Johnson.

The 28-year old Johnson has rushed for over 1,000 yards in all six of of his NFL seasons. He also rushed for over 2,000 yards in 2009. He has accrued almost 8,000 yards rushing and 50 rushing touchdowns in six seasons.
