JUNE 15, 2016 NEW YORK GIANTS MINI-CAMP REPORT…
The second day of the New York Giants mandatory 3-day mini-camp was held on Wednesday at Quest Diagnostics Training Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The mini-camp will conclude with a practice and meetings on Thursday.
GIANTS INTERESTED IN EUGENE MONROE…
ESPN is reporting that the New York Giants were involved in trade talks with the Baltimore Ravens for offensive tackle Eugene Monroe. Those talks apparently fell apart and Monroe was released on Wednesday. The Giants, Chargers, and Seahawks are speculated to have interest in his services as a free agent.
The 29-year old Monroe was originally drafted in the 1st round of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars traded Monroe to the Ravens in October 2013. In seven seasons, Monroe has started regular-season 90 games. He missed five regular-season games in 2014 and 10 regular-season games in 2015 due to injury. Monroe is an athletic left tackle whose toughness and passion for the game have been questioned.
