Injury Report – Terrell Thomas Injures His ACL Again, Career Might Be Over: Not practicing yesterday were CB Terrell Thomas (knee), LB Michael Boley (hamstring), LB Keith Rivers (hamstring), DE Justin Trattou (ankle), WR Hakeem Nicks (PUP – foot), TE Travis Beckum (PUP – knee), DT Chris Canty (PUP – knee), and LB Clint Sintim (PUP – knee).

The injury news on Thomas is not good. Thomas slipped and fell in Sunday’s practice. The knee swelled overnight and Thomas underwent an MRI and examination at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan yesterday. The MRI revealed that Thomas suffered an injury to the right knee involving the ACL – the same ACL he has torn twice, including last preseason. If he tore the ACL again, his career might be over.

“Terrell re-injured his ACL,” said Giants Senior Vice President of Medical Services Ronnie Barnes. “At this point, he will most likely undergo an arthroscopic procedure to determine the extent of the injury to the ACL. However, no decision has been made at this point. Terrell is going to consult with Dr. (Arthur) Ting, who performed an allograft reconstruction of the ACL in September.”

According to various press reports, the injury is believed to be a partial tear of the ACL.

Boley also traveled to the hospital for further examination. “They’re just checking to make sure to what degree the hamstring is an issue,” Head Coach Tom Coughlin said.

The news on Trattou is not bad. The injury was not a fracture or high ankle sprain. “(Trattou) said it feels better today,” Coughlin said. “I don’t know what that means but he feels better. I think we’ll get him back – it’s a lateral ankle.”

CB Jayron Hosley left practice early with cuts on his knee that required stitches. “He went down,” Coughlin said. “He fell down and he must have fallen on someone’s shoe. That’s the only thing I can think of because he has a laceration or two and he has some stitches.”

HB Da’Rel Scott (ankle) returned to practice.

Quotes: Head Coach Tom Coughlin on DE/LB Adrian Tracy: “He’s looking pretty good, he’s a powerful guy.”

Coughlin on HB David Wilson: “He does flash that. He does that consistently. He looks very fast, he looks very quick. Sometimes, he does not make the right cut, or the right maneuver. When he does, you can see that, if provided the opportunity, he might slide through a crack and give you a good play.”
