According to NJ.com, the New York Giants have expressed interest in unrestricted free agent running backs Roy Helu (Washington Redskins) and Antone Smith (Atlanta Falcons).

The 26-year old Helu (5’11’, 215 lbs) is a situational, pass-receiving back in Washington. In 2014, he carried the ball 40 times for 216 yards and a touchdown and caught 42 passes for 477 yards and two touchdowns.

The 29-year old Smith (5’9”, 192 lbs) is a speedy situational back for the Falcons. He carried the ball 23 times for 144 yards and two touchdowns and caught 13 passes for 222 yards and three touchdowns in 2014. He had a 74-yard touchdown reception against the Giants last season.

Although teams cannot officially sign players from other teams until 4:00PM ET on March 10, the negotiating period began on March 7.
