REPORT – GIANTS PASS ON MIKE SINGLETARY…
The New York Post is reporting that the New York Giants did not offer Mike Singletary a contract after he interviewed with the team on Thursday for the vacant linebacker coach position. The Post says the Giants will continue to interview other candidates.

Jim Herrmann had been the New York Giants’ linebacker coach since 2009. The team allowed Herrmann to interview with other clubs after the season, and he accepted the linebacker coach position with the Indianapolis Colts last week.

The 57-year old Singletary was a Hall of Fame linebacker for the Chicago Bears (1981-1992), twice NFL Defensive Player of the Year, eight-time first-team All-Pro, and a 10-time Pro Bowler. Singletary was head coach of the San Francisco 49ers in 2009-2010. He served as assistant head coach and linebackers coach of the Minnesota Vikings in 2011-2013. Singletary has not coached for the last two seasons.

49ERS HIRE PAT FLAHERTY…
The San Francisco 49ers have hired Pat Flaherty as their new offensive line coach. Flaherty had served as the offensive line coach of the New York Giants since 2004. According to multiple media reports, the Giants were not interested in retaining him in 2016. Though not officially confirmed, the Giants have hired Mike Solari as the team’s new offensive line coach.

BROWNS HIRE ROBERT NUNN…
The Cleveland Browns have hired Robert Nunn as their new defensive line coach. Nunn had served as the defensive line coach of the New York Giants since 2010. According to multiple media reports, the Giants were not interested in retaining him in 2016. The team’s defensive line coaching position currently remains vacant.

REPORT – MIKE SOLARI NEW OFFENSIVE LINE COACH…
Though not officially announced, according to multiple media reports, the New York Giants have hired Mike Solari as the team’s new offensive line coach. As we reported previously, Solari interviewed with the Giants on Wednesday. He replaces Pat Flaherty, who had been with the team since 2004.

The 61-year old Solari was the assistant offensive line coach for the Green Bay Packers in 2015. Considered by some as one of the best offensive line coaches in football, Solari has also served with distinction as the offensive line coach for the Kansas City Chiefs (1997-2005), Seattle Seahawks (2008-2009), and San Francisco 49ers (2010-2014). Solari was the offensive coordinator for the Chiefs in 2006-2007. Solari’s full bio is available in the Coaching Staff section of the website.

NJ.com is reporting that Lunda Wells, who has served the team as offensive quality control coach (2012) and assistant offensive line coach (2013-present), will remain with the team.

Unofficially, the New York Giants offensive staff is currently as follows:

  • Offensive Coordinator: Mike Sullivan (with team 2004-11, 2015)
  • Quarterbacks Coach: Frank Cignetti, Jr. (new)
  • Running Backs Coach: Craig Johnson (with team since 2014)
  • Wide Receivers Coach: Adam Henry (new)
  • Tight Ends Coach: Kevin M. Gilbride (with team since 2010)
  • Offensive Line Coach: Mike Solari (new)
  • Assistant Offensive Line Coach: Lunda Wells (with team since 2012)
  • Offensive Assistant: Ryan Roeder (with team since 2013)

REPORT – FRANK CIGNETTI NEW QUARTERBACKS COACH…
Though not officially announced, according to multiple media reports, Frank Cignetti, Jr. is the new quarterbacks coach of the New York Giants. The 50-year old Cignetti has been with the St. Louis Rams for the last four years, first as quarterbacks coach (2012-2014) and then offensive coordinator (2015). Cignetti was fired by the Rams in December.

Mike Sullivan was the quarterback coach for the Giants in 2015, but there are unofficial reports that he will be the team’s new offensive coordinator.

REPORT – DWAYNE STUKES NEW ASSISTANT SPECIAL TEAMS COACH…
Though not officially announced, FOXSports is reporting that the New York Giants have hired Dwayne Stukes as the team’s new assistant special teams coach. Stukes replaces Larry Izzo, who was hired by the Houston Texans as their new special teams coordinator.

The 38-year old Stukes was the assistant special teams coach for the Chicago Bears in 2013-2014. He was also the Special Teams Coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2011 after serving as their assistant special teams coach in 2009-2010. He was out of football in 2012 and 2015.
