October 16, 2007 New York Giants Injury Report:  The Giants came out of the Atlanta game relatively healthy.  WR Plaxico Burress’ ankle remains sore. “I was worried (after the game) because it was really sore, I was limping around,” said Burress. “It just comes and goes. It’s one of those things I don’t understand at all.”

HB Derrick Ward aggravated his sprained ankle again, but he did return to the game.  HB Brandon Jacobs left the game with first a burner then an ankle injury, but the Giants say he is fine.  CB Aaron Ross left the game with cramps, but returned.

Notes and Quotes:  WR Plaxico Burress has caught at least one touchdown pass in all six games this season.  According to the Elias Sports Bureau, he is the second player since 1970 with a TD catch in each of his first six games of a season.  The other is former 49ers’ WR Jerry Rice.  Burress also has the longest active streaks in the NFL for consecutive games with a touchdown and a touchdown reception.

HB Reuben Droughns led the Giants with 90 rushing yards against Atlanta.  He joins HB Derrick Ward and HB Brandon Jacobs as players who have had team-high rushing totals in a single game this season.  This is the first time the Giants have had three different backs lead the team in rushing in a single game in the same season since 2001.

The Giants have committed no more than six penalties in any game this season.

DE Justin Tuck on all of the Giants’ fans at the Georgia Dome on Monday night: “It was like we were playing in front of a home crowd sometimes. You could hear the chants down there, ‘Let’s go Giants!’ We fed off that energy.”
