New York Giants Mini-Camp Ends:  The Giants’ three-day, full-squad, mandatory mini-camp ended yesterday.  The veterans will now be off until July 24th when training camp begins.  The rookies’ off-season program will end on June 24th.

Here is a practice report from yesterday:

Jerry Reese and Jeremy Shockey Involved in Shouting Match?:  The Bergen Record is reporting that disgruntled TE Jeremy Shockey and General Manager Jerry Reese became involved in a shouting match at some point during the Giants’ recently concluded, three-day mini-camp.  The Giants neither confirmed nor denied the report.  The Daily News is reporting that an unidentified team source claims the incident did occur.

There were no details on where or when the shouting match happened.  The Record says the “animated argument” was possibly over Shockey’s claims that the Giants would not allow him to stand with his teammates during the Super Bowl and that it was the Giants who spread rumors that he was unhappy with the team.

Not able to practice because the leg/ankle injuries he suffered last December, Shockey refused to watch practice with his fellow injured teammates during the five mini-camp practices.  There were reports that he did not eat lunch with his teammates.  And The Record says he left the mini-camp yesterday before the final morning practice was over.  Shockey did not make himself available to the press during the mini-camp.

Head Coach Tom Coughlin was asked if there had been an improvement in Shockey’s mental state.  “In my dealings with him there hasn’t been,” responded Coughlin.  “I don’t sense it.  There is an issue, but it is not something that would prevent him from working.”

Shockey’s agent also made an appearance at the Meadowlands.  “The best thing I can say about Jeremy’s situation is that we are talking to the team about some of the issues that exist and we hope to get that resolved,” said the agent.

Injury Report: CB Aaron Ross (unknown ailment) did not practice yesterday.

Not practicing again were LB Antonio Pierce (back), LB Danny Clark (sports hernia, post op), LB Zak DeOssie (back), LB Gerris Wilkinson (knee), CB Sam Madison (sports hernia, post op), WR David Tyree (knee and wrist), WR D.J. Hall (back), TE Jeremy Shockey (ankle), and TE Michael Matthews (shoulder).
