October 14, 2009 New York Giants Injury Report: Not practicing yesterday were HB Ahmad Bradshaw (ankle/foot), DT Chris Canty (calf), LB Michael Boley (knee), and CB Aaron Ross (hamstring).

QB Eli Manning (foot), TE Kevin Boss (ankle), and SS C.C. Brown (shoulder) were limited.

“We’ll manage (Eli) just like we manage anyone,” said Coughlin before practice. “We’re calling him limited, only because he’s going to take X amount of snaps and he’s going to take the ones that we think are important for him on a daily basis. Hopefully, we can build up as we go along. He may take X amount of snaps today (on Wednesday), a little bit more tomorrow (on Thursday) and a little bit more on Friday.”

“(Eli) came out of the game no worse for wear,” Coughlin said. “We were able to play him, he played well, and get him out of the game. He will continue to be in the training room, but he’s very, very positive about it, very optimistic.”

“I feel a lot better,” Manning said after practice. “It was a great practice today; did everything I wanted to do. So I’m feeling a lot better and moving around and excited about where I am.”

“I went out there and I was trying to get as many reps as I could,” Boss said. “I was a little limited in the amount of reps but I was out there and running full speed, so it’s definitely making some improvements. I think it is better than I thought it would be. I hadn’t really cut on it much, so this was the first day to really test it out and it felt pretty good.”

LG Rich Seubert (shoulder), HB Danny Ware (elbow), and LB Bryan Kehl (finger) fully practiced.

Notes and Quotes: WR Domenik Hixon says he’s not bothered by the fact that it appears that WR Mario Manningham has moved ahead of him on the depth chart. “No, not at all,” Hixon said. “We want to win ball games. The thing is, this is a team concept that we have. Whether you start or not, you have a role and you’re expected to fill that role and do it to your best.”

Head Coach Tom Coughlin on the perception that HB Brandon Jacobs is having a sub-par season: “I don’t know what people keep talking about turning around. The guy had some outstanding runs the other day. He had the numbers in terms of rushes. He had the usual number of power runs that he has. I don’t think there is anything for Brandon to be down on. This keeps coming up. I don’t know what the expectations are. He is a power runner and that is what he does. If you are talking about the goal line – it was good penetration and he didn’t get the opportunity to get into the end zone. But he will continue to work at that and continue to study and continue to look at himself. And he continues to be a vital part of our offensive team.”
