SEPTEMBER 30, 2023 GIANTS INJURY REPORT…
LT Andrew Thomas (hamstring) did not practice on Saturday and has been ruled out of Monday night’s game against the Seattle Seahawks. “He practiced a little bit in individual two days ago, just wasn’t feeling right, didn’t practice him yesterday,” said Head Coach Brian Daboll. “He won’t make the game… He went through a few little drills (on Thursday), didn’t feel right, we took him out right away and just want to make sure the player’s ready to go and do the necessary rehab and stuff. So, I’d say it’s week to week. Whether he’ll be ready next week, I’m not sure. Really week to week.”

RB Saquon Barkley (ankle), TE Daniel Bellinger (neck), DL D.J. Davidson (elbow), and OLB Azeez Ojulari (hamstring) were limited in practice. OL Ben Bredeson (concussion) fully practiced. Barkley has officially been ruled “doubtful” for the game while the other four players are expected to be available.

“Saquon will practice, do a little bit more,” said Daboll before Saturday’s practice. “We’ll see where he’s at and take it right up to game time.”

“Yeah, it’s a high ankle sprain,” Barkley said after practice.

“(Ojulari) had a good week,” said Daboll. “He had good practice yesterday. Feels good, practiced well. So, unless something happens today, counting on him being there.”

SEPTEMBER 15, 2023 GIANTS INJURY REPORT…
Every player on the 53-man roster practiced on Friday. “Everybody’s practicing, and we’ll reevaluate after practice,” said Head Coach Brian Daboll.

“I talk to (Thomas) every day,” said Daboll. “So today, he said he feels a little bit better. We’ll do a little bit more with him today… I have discussions anytime a player is injured. Obviously, I refer to the medical staff. I trust those guys implicitly, but I also want to talk to the player to see where they’re at, their head’s at, and you want to do the player right. So, if he’s ready to play, he’ll play. And if he’s not, he won’t.”

Practice squad player CB Amani Oruwariye (neck) returned to practice.

JUNE 14, 2023 NEW YORK GIANTS MINI-CAMP REPORT…
The second and last day of the New York Giants 2-day, mandatory mini-camp was held on Wednesday at Quest Diagnostics Training Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey. No live contact is permitted during the mini-camp, but 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 drills are allowed. After a team cookout on Thursday, the players are now off until summer training camp begins in late July.

“I think one of the most important things in spring is the strength and conditioning,” said Head Coach Brian Daboll on what his team accomplished. “I think those guys have done a good job with that. And then the chemistry that you build with one another, not just on the field, but off the field, getting to know one another. We’ve signed a bunch of new free agents; we have the college guys coming in. So again, it’s been a good group to work with. Time will tell here as we get started in training camp.”

ABSENTEES…
The only player not present was RB Saquon Barkley, who is currently not under contract as an unsigned Franchise player.

PRACTICE NOTES…

  • John Michael Schmitz was the first-team center with Ben Bredeson at left guard.
  • Darnay Holmes was the first-team slot cornerback with Bobby McCain starting at safety alongside Xavier McKinney.
  • Inside linebacker Bobby Okereke broke up a pass over the middle in 7-on-7 drills and nearly had the interception.
  • Cornerback Deonte Banks broke up a fade pass from quarterback Daniel Jones intended for wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins.
  • Wide receiver David Sills was active catching the ball, including a big gain on seam pass from quarterback Daniel Jones.

NEW YORK GIANTS RE-SIGN ISAIAH HODGINS…
The Giants have re-signed wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins, who was set to become exclusive rights free agent on March 15.

The Giants claimed Hodgins off of waivers from the Buffalo Bills in early November 2022. Hodgins quickly received playing time, playing in eight regular-season games with five starts. He finished with 33 catches for 351 yards (10.6 yards per catch) and four touchdowns. In the playoff game against the Vikings, Hodgins caught eight passes for 105 yards and a touchdown. However, he was limited to one catch against the playoff loss to the Eagles.

Hodgins was originally drafted in the 6th round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Bills. He spent most of his rookie season on Injured Reserve and most of 2021 on the Practice Squad. Before coming to the Giants, Hodgins only played in two regular-season games, catching four passes for 41 yards.
