Ioane was waived by the Texans on May 3. The Giants then signed him on May 24 and then cut him a day later on May 25. According to NFLPA.org, Ioane’s contract is a 1-year deal with a $585,000 base salary.

QB Rob Johnson Signed to a One-Year Deal: According to NFLPA.org, the contract signed by QB Rob Johnson is a 1-year deal with a $710,000 base salary.

New York Giants Cut OT Jon Doty: According to ProFootballWeekly.com, the Giants have cut OT Jon Doty, who had been assigned to NFL Europe by the Giants.

CB William Peterson May Be Deemed a Post-June 1st Cut: The recent extension to the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) has provided teams with the opportunity to designate one player per season as a post-June 1 cut even when the player is waived before June 1. ESPN.com is reporting that the Giants may have used this new designation on Will Peterson, who was waived on May 26. By doing so, a larger portion of Peterson’s cap hit will affect the 2007 salary cap rather than the 2006 cap.
