Giants’ Beat Writer Practice Reports: The following are brief practice reports provided by the NY/NJ beat writers who cover the Giants:
Injury Report: Not practicing yesterday were WR Plaxico Burress (ankle), WR Mario Manningham (quad), WR David Tyree (knee – PUP), RT Shane Olivea, LB Gerris Wilkinson (knee – PUP), and CB Sam Madison (sports hernia).
Burress was cleared by Giants’ doctors to begin some light running. Wilkinson and Tyree have begun doing more hard running and cutting on the sidelines.
WR Amani Toomer (leg), DE/DT Justin Tuck (foot), DE Osi Umenyiora (hip), LB Zak DeOssie (back), and S Craig Dahl (knee) did not practice in the morning, but practiced in the evening (though Toomer was limited).
Steve Smith (groin), LB Antonio Pierce (shoulder), and LB Danny Clark (sports hernia) practiced in the morning, but not in the evening. RG Chris Snee (shoulder) left the evening practice early.
S Kenny Phillips (hamstring) returned to practice.
