Head Coach Tom Coughlin Non-Committal on Plaxico Burress Returning: During his radio on WFAN yesterday (see link above), Head Coach Tom Coughlin did not sound as positive as General Manager Jerry Reese sounded on Monday about WR Plaxico Burress returning to the Giants.
“You know what? I’m not ready to say that,” said Coughlin when asked about Burress possibly returning to the team. “I’m not ready to say that because we need to sit down and think about it and talk about that and see what the circumstance might be. And I told everyone, I told the world, that Plaxico is a member of our team and I am concerned about him, for his well-being and that of his family. But the issues that I have to think about are that there are 52 other guys in that locker room as well.”
Both Spagnuolo and Gilbride Interviewing With Other Teams Today: Both Defensive Coordinator Steve Spagnuolo and Offensive Coordinator Kevin Gilbride will be interviewing with other teams today regarding head coaching positions. Spagnuolo will be interviewing with the Rams while Gilbride will be interviewing with the Raiders.
DeGuglielmo Leaving the Giants for the Dolphins?: According to The Miami Herald, Giants’ Assistant Offensive Line Coach Dave DeGuglielmo is the front-runner to become the new offensive line coach for the Miami Dolphins. The Star-Ledger is reporting that DeGuglielmo has in fact been offered and has accepted the job with Miami.

Chiefs Were Interested in Gettleman: The Kansas City Star reports that the Kansas City Chiefs interviewed Giants’ Director of Pro Personnel Dave Gettleman for their general manager vacancy before the Chiefs hired Scott Pioli of New England for the position.
