Yahoo! Sports Q&A With General Manager Jerry Reese: Q&A: Giants’ Reese Discusses WRs, Injury Info by Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports

June 17, 2009 New York Giants Mini-Camp: The second day of the Giants’ three-day, full-squad mini-camp is in the books as the Giants held two more practices yesterday. Mini-camp practice reports:

Injury Report: Not practicing yesterday were DT Fred Robbins (knee), DT Barry Cofield (knee), DT Rocky Bernard (shoulder), LB Chase Blackburn (hamstring), LB Clint Sintim (hamstring), CB Corey Webster (shoulder), CB Kevin Dockery (unknown), HB Andre Brown (unknown), WR Sinorice Moss (hamstring), WR David Tyree (hamstring), WR Taye Biddle (finger), TE Travis Beckum (hamstring), TE Lee Vickers (unknown), and LT William Beatty (hamstring).

“There are different degrees of strain,” said Head Coach Tom Coughlin. “But we have been looking at a couple of young guys, for example, who have been out forever. Why they have not progressed to the point that they can come back, part of it is because there is such a short window to work with them. And when they miss that amount of time it hurts them. I told them this morning again, this is the third time that they will have repeated the basic stuff. By that third time a lot of stuff is sinking in. The guys that have not participated, they are the guys that are involved in – they don’t have the pressure on them except for the classroom to perform. And it is not as good as it could be.”

“I can barely tell which leg I had surgery on half the time,” Cofield said of his offseason knee surgery. “I can see the big scar, but when I’m out there running I’m not favoring it. It feels strong. We’re trying to avoid a situation where I could fall or have someone roll up on my leg, things that happen when you’re in full-team situations. Come August, I’ll be out there just like every other D-lineman.”

CB Aaron Ross (ankle) returned to practice.
