September 28, 2009 New York Giants Injury Report: The following players were injured against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday:

  • RT Kareem McKenzie (knee): “We are hoping that Kareem comes right back and can practice,” said Head Coach Tom Coughlin.
  • LG Rich Seubert (shoulder): “It is a situation where his shoulder got knocked down early on,” said Coughlin. “He will come right back this week and strengthen it and he will be ready to go.”
  • LB Chase Blackburn (ankle): “Chase has an ankle sprain and does think it can be controlled,” said Coughlin. “The one thing – as with a lot of our guys – he will be in the training room for 24 hours until he gets to where he can control the swelling and that type of thing. They went and x-rayed and did all of that yesterday and he came back and played and finished the game.”

Injury updates were also provided on the following players who did not play against Tampa Bay:

  • WR Hakeem Nicks (foot): Nicks said he expects to practice on Wednesday.
  • LB Clint Sintim (groin): “It’s a long season, that’s what they keep telling me,” said Sintim yesterday. “I’ll have my opportunities. I’ve just got to be smart about it.”
  • CBs Aaron Ross (hamstring) and Kevin Dockery (hamstring): “We are going to try to get Ross and Dockery going,” said Coughlin. “Hopefully they will be able to do some individual work to start with. We are going to kind of spoon feed them back in. But it is time.”
  • DT Chris Canty (calf) and WR Domenik Hixon (knee): “We’ll see,” said Coughlin. “They are encouraged by where they are. But the same thing goes for all of those guys. Even though they are coming back, let’s not get ahead of ourselves here. This has been going on forever.”

DE Justin Tuck (shoulder) played eight snaps against the Buccaneers. Coughlin said he came through the game “OK.”
