New York Giants Sign Chad Jones, Waive Kicker: The Giants announced yesterday that they have signed safety Chad Jones, their 3rd round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. Jones is the first of the Giants’ seven draft picks to sign. The Daily News is reporting that the deal is believed to be a 4-year, $2.6 million contract.

In order to make room for Jones on the 80-man roster, the Giants waived PK Sam Swank.

June 11, 2010 New York Giants OTA Practice: The Giants held their 12th and final Organized Team Activity (OTA) practice yesterday, and their fourth OTA open to the media. A full-squad mini-camp will will be held June 15-17. The afternoon practice on June 15 (2:50-4:30PM) will be held inside the new stadium and open to the public.

Injury Update: Not practicing yesterday were WR Hakeem Nicks (offseason toe and wrist surgery), TE Kevin Boss (offseason ankle surgery), OG/OC Kevin Boothe (offseason pectoral surgery), LB Michael Boley (hamstring), and S Kenny Phillips (still recovering from knee surgery).

DE Justin Tuck and DE Osi Umenyiora did not attend yesterday’s “voluntary” practice.
