49ers Interested in Perry Fewell: According to press reports, the San Francisco 49ers have become the third NFL team to be interested in Defensive Coordinator Perry Fewell as a potential head coaching candidate. The Carolina Panthers and Cleveland Browns are the other two teams.

Barry Cofield to Undergo Shoulder Surgery: DT Barry Cofield says he played the entire 2010 season with a shoulder injury, possibly a torn rotator cuff, that will require offseason surgery. Cofield elected to play with the injury as surgery would have caused him to miss the entire 2010 season.

“I played with a bad shoulder all year,” said Cofield. “If I would have gotten (surgery) this past offseason, playing this year wouldn’t have been an option. I’m looking forward to getting it corrected.”
