Zak DeOssie to the Pro Bowl: Zak DeOssie has been selected by Atlanta Falcons Head Coach Mike Smith to be the long snapper for the NFC Pro Bowl team. It will be DeOssie’s second Pro Bowl, the first coming after the 2008 season.

“I think I had my best year snapping,” DeOssie said. “It all comes down to consistency, and again having Sage (Rosenfels) and Lawrence (Tynes) there helping me. Matt (Dodge) and I will keep working. I felt more confident this year than I have in the past.”

DeOssie will join fellow teammates OG Chris Snee, DE Justin Tuck, and S Antrel Rolle at the Pro Bowl. OC Shaun O’Hara had also been voted to the Pro Bowl but backed out due to his injuries.

Shaun O’Hara Has Surgery: OC Shaun O’Hara had surgery on Wednesday to have a screw placed in his injured right foot. According to The Daily News, the screw is intended to stablize the sprained Lisfranc joint and help the foot to heal faster. O’Hara will also have a second surgery soon to repair damage in his left ankle (bone spur) and Achilles (bone chip).
