New York Giants to Release Rich Seubert and Shaun O’Hara: According to various press reports, the Giants will release OG/OC Rich Seubert and OC Shaun O’Hara later this week.

The 32-year old Seubert is coming off of serious knee surgery from an injury he suffered in the regular-season finale against the Washington Redskins. Seubert was scheduled to make $2.25 million in salary in 2011.

The 34-year O’Hara is coming off of offseason surgeries to his left ankle and right foot. O’Hara was scheduled to make $3.45 million in salary in 2011.

Andrews Won’t Restructure and Likely Gone: According to various press reports, the Giants approached OT/OG Shawn Andrews about re-structuring his 6-year, $32.5 million contract without success. Andrews indicated yesterday by Twitter that he and the Giants were parting ways. Andrews was due to earn $7.5 million in 2011 with the Giants.

Giants Agree to Terms With Kevin Boothe: According to ESPN, the Giants have agreed to terms with unrestricted free agent OG/OC Kevin Boothe. The contract is supposedly a 2-year deal.

Free Agent Rumblings – Coughlin to Meet With Plax: Former Giant and current unrestricted free agent WR Plaxico Burress will meet with Head Coach Tom Coughlin possibly as soon as today. Burress arrived in the NY/NJ area yesterday. However, under the new Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), it is not clear if a meeting is allowed today or will have to wait until Friday.

“I really don’t know what I’m going to say,” Burress said. “I’m just going to go in there (today) and speak from the heart, be truthful with him and let him know how I feel. Whatever comes out is going to come out. I’m pretty sure there are things he wants to say, too.”

The Rams, Bears, and Texans are also reportedly interested in Burress. When asked if the Giants are the favorite to sign him, Burress replied, “I’m not sure. I do love New York. My fan base here has been great to me. But it’s not just about football; there are just a lot of things that go into it. But after this I’ll know a lot more. Without a doubt, without question.”

Meanwhile, according to CBSSports.com, the Giants are one of eight teams interested in unrestricted free agent WR/Returner Brad Smith (New York Jets).

ESPN is reporting that the Giants are working hard to re-sign unrestricted free agent HB Ahmad Bradshaw, who is also drawing interest from the Miami Dolphins.

Barry Cofield Agree to Terms with Redskins: According to various press reports, unrestricted free agent Barry Cofield has agreed to terms with the Washington Redskins. The contract is reportedly a 6-year, $36 million deal with $12 million in guaranteed money.

Giants Talking to Jacobs and Bernard About Re-Structured Contracts: According to press reports, the Giants have reached out to HB Brandon Jacobs and DT Rocky Bernard about re-structuring their contracts. No word yet on how amenable either players is to doing so. Jacobs is scheduled to earn $4.65 million in salary in 2011 while Bernard is scheduled to make $2.95 million in salary.

Osi Umenyiora May Hold Out: According to WFAN, DE Osi Umenyiora will holdout of training camp unless he is given a new contract. Umenyiora is currently signed through the 2012 season.

Undrafted Rookies Agree to Terms With Giants: According to various press reports, the Giants have agreed to terms with the following undrafted rookie free agents:

  • OL Jarriel King (South Carolina)
  • DE DE Justin Trattou (Florida)
  • DE Craig Marshall (South Florida)
  • DT Martin Parker (Richmond)
  • DT Ibrahim Abdulai (Arkansas – Pine Bluff)
  • LB Mark Herzlich (Boston College)
  • LB Spencer Paysinger (Oregon)
  • S David Sims (Iowa State)
  • TE/Long Snapper Harry Flaherty (Princeton)
