PRACTICE SQUAD MOVES…
The New York Giants have re-signed offensive lineman Adam Gettis to the Practice Squad. The team also terminated the Practice Squad contracts of running back George Winn and offensive lineman Laurence Gibson.

Gettis was cut on Saturday to make room for running back Shane Vereen to be activated from Injured Reserve. Gettis was originally drafted in the 5th round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins. He has spent time with the Redskins (2012-2013), Steelers (2014), Giants (2014-2015), Raiders (2015), and Giants again (2015-2016). Gettis was signed to the Practice Squad in September 2016 and to the 53-man roster in November 2016.

Winn was signed to the Practice Squad in November 2016. Winn was originally signed by the Houston Texans as an undrafted rookie free agent after the 2013 NFL Draft. He has spent time with the Texans (2013), New England Patriots (2013), Oakland Raiders (2013), Pittsburgh Steelers (2013), Dallas Cowboys (2013), and Detroit Lions (2014–2016).

Gibson was signed to the Practice Squad in September 2016. Gibson was originally drafted in the 7th round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys. He has spent time with the Cowboys (2015), Chiefs (2015), Falcons (2016), and Bears (2016).

PRACTICE SQUAD MOVES…
The New York Giants have officially signed offensive tackles Laurence Gibson and Michael Ola to the Practice Squad. The team also terminated the Practice Squad contract of Shane McDermott.

Gibson was originally drafted in the 7th round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys. He has spent time with the Cowboys (2015), Chiefs (2015), Falcons (2016), and Bears (2016). He has yet to play in a regular-season game. Gibson is a very athletic lineman with good height and long arms. A better testing athlete than football player so far, Gibson needs to play with more strength and power.

Ola is a journeyman who has bounced around different leagues and teams including the Jacksonville Sharks (2012), Montreal Alouettes (2012–2013), Miami Dolphins (2014), Chicago Bears (2014), San Diego Chargers (2015), Detroit Lions (2015), and Seattle Seahawks (2016). He has played in 23 regular-season NFL games with 19 starts. Versatile, Ola has played at both tackle and guard.

McDermott was originally signed by the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted rookie free agent after the 2015 NFL Draft, but the Cowboys cut him in September that year. After a brief stint on the Panthers Practice Squad, the Giants signed McDermott to the Practice Squad in November 2015.

GIANTS SIGN MICHAEL HUNTER TO ROSTER; MYKKELE THOMPSON TO IR…
The New York Giants have placed safety Mykkele Thompson on Injured Reserve with a knee injury that he suffered during Sunday’s victory over the New Orleans Saints. The team also signed cornerback Michael Hunter to the 53-man roster from the team’s Practice Squad.

Thompson was drafted in the 5th round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Giants. He missed all of his rookie season after rupturing the Achilles’ tendon in his right foot during the preseason.

The Giants originally signed Hunter as an undrafted rookie free agent after the 2016 NFL Draft. Hunter has a nice combination of size and speed. He is a physical, press corner who was up-and-down during the 2016 preseason for the Giants.

GIANTS TO SIGN OFFENSIVE TACKLE TO PRACTICE SQUAD…
Though not officially announced yet, ESPN is reporting that the New York Giants will sign offensive tackle Laurence Gibson to the Practice Squad.

BYRON STINGILY WAIVED FROM INJURED RESERVE…

Stingily was originally drafted in the 6th round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans. The Titans waived him in September 2015 and he then signed with the Steelers in October 2015. The Giants signed Stingily as an unrestricted free agent in April 2016.
