New York Giants Waive 13 Players; Place One on Injured Reserve: The Giants have officially announced that they have waived the following 13 players:

• QB Rob Johnson
• HB Little John Flowers
• FB Greg Hanoian
• WR Triandos Luke
• WR Harry Williams
• TE Boo Williams
• OG Ben Herrell
• DT Sir Henry Anderson
• LB Thomas Carroll
• CB Brandon Williams
• CB Vontez Duff
• S Jason Shivers
• P/PK Travis Dorsch

The Giants have also placed CB E.J. Underwood on Injured Reserve, thus ending his season. Underwood has a shoulder injury that may require surgery. “He’d had a really good camp,” said Head Coach Tom Coughlin. “We were kind of closed-mouthed about how well he had been playing and how much information he was able to handle, because he had been playing in those nickel packages and dime packages on the inside. In reality, he learned a couple of positions for us, plus special teams. I really didn’t expect the news that we got either, to be honest with you. I didn’t think it was going to be that serious, but it was.”

The roster officially stands at 76 players, because the Giants have been granted an exemption for S Claudius Osei, a German native who will spend the 2006 season on the Giants’ practice squad after being allocated to the team as part of the NFL’s International Practice Squad Program.

August 29, 2006 New York Giants Injury Update: LB LaVar Arrington (knee), OG/OC Rich Seubert (toe), WR Sinorice Moss (quad), and HB Derrick Ward (foot) did not practice yesterday. OC Shaun O’Hara (knee) and LT Luke Petitgout (back) practiced on a limited basis for the second day in a row.
