September 20, 2007 New York Giants Injury Report: WR Plaxico Burress (ankle) missed practice for the second day in a row yesterday. “He is going to go (on Friday) as far as I know,” said Head Coach Tom Coughlin. “He did not work (on Thursday).”

“I don’t want to miss any practice,” Burress said. “The only thing I can do is rest it. I can run on it. It’s just sore. I’ll be there Sunday.”

Also not practicing were HB Brandon Jacobs (knee) and WR Steve Smith (scapula). Both have been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Redskins.

QB Jared Lorenzen (ankle) was limited in practice for the second day in a row.

LB Gerris Wilkinson (knee), CB Kevin Dockery (ankle), and WR David Tyree (wrist) all continued to practice. “I just want to get back out there and help this football team,” said Tyree, who is still wearing a cast to protect his fractured wrist. “It’s not about me, it’s about this team. We’ve done some good things, but we’ve also done some bad things on special teams. And we’ve got a wounded wideout corps. So any way I can help this football team is good.”

New York Giants Practice Squad Moves: The Star-Ledger is reporting that WR Kevin McMahan (hamstring) was placed on the Practice Squad/Injured List. The Star-Ledger Giants’ blog says that McMahan will be released as soon as he rehabs his injury and as part of the injury agreement will not be allowed to re-sign with the Giants this season.

The Bergen Record is reporting that the Giants have signed WR Todd Lowber to the Practice Squad. Lowber was signed by the Vikings as a rookie free agent after the 2007 NFL Draft. He did not play football in college (Ramapo College) or high school, but he is a very good athlete with excellent size (6-3, 205 lbs). The Giants worked out Lowber at the Meadowlands last week.
