Lawrence Tynes to Undergo Knee Surgery, May Be Lost for the Season: The Giants’ hopes to repeat as champions may have taken a hit as it has been learned that PK Lawrence Tynes will undergo exploratory surgery on his left knee today. The Star-Ledger reports one unidentified source says the injury may be similar to the one suffered by WR David Tyree. If so, it would mean a 4-6 month rehab for Tynes, who would likely be placed on injured reserve or may even be released after an injury settlement. Tynes signed a 5-year, $7 million contract in the offseason.

Injury Report: LB Antonio Pierce (back), QB Anthony Wright (back), WR David Tyree (knee/PUP), LB Jonathan Goff (back), and PK Lawrence Tynes (knee) did not practice. Wright, Tyree, Goff, and Tynes will not play against the Jets.

DE/DT Justin Tuck (foot), LB/DE Mathias Kiwanuka (groin), and WR Brandon London (shoulder) returned to practice. WR Amani Toomer (leg), WR Steve Smith (groin), WR Mario Manningham (quad), and CB Sam Madison (sports hernia) practiced for the second day in a row. WR Plaxico Burress (ankle) was limited to individual drills again.

Giants Waive RT Shane Olivea: The Giants have waived RT Shane Olivea, who was on Injured Reserve with a back injury.
