September 15, 2008 New York Giants Injury Report: CB Aaron Ross suffered a stinger against the Rams but says he is fine.

Head Coach Tom Coughlin also comments on a trio of players who did not play against the Rams.

“(PK Lawrence Tynes – knee) is advancing and he will do more work this week and hopefully he is continuing to make progress,” said Coughlin. “(CB Terrell Thomas – hamstring) is going to go individual and then after he does that we will see how he is and if he can advance, we will advance…the main thing is trying to move (CB R.W.) McQuarters along from his strained calf and Tynes.”

Giants Interested in DT Hollis Thomas?: According to Yahoo! Sports, the Giants are one of four teams who have expressed interest in DT Hollis Thomas who was recently waived by the New Orleans Saints with an injury settlement. Hollis has a torn triceps injury and is not expected to be able to return to action until mid-October. The Saints are supposedly interested in re-signing Thomas and the Redskins and Eagles are also said to be interested in his services, according to his agent.

“It should be another three or four weeks before he’s ready to go, but Hollis has had teams call to check where he’s at,” said Thomas’ agent. “He’s working to keep himself in good shape so he’s ready to play right away.”

Notes: The Giants have  won six consecutive games in a domed stadium.

The 20 points the Giants have allowed in the first two games are the lowest a Giants’ defense has allowed to start a season since 1952 when that defense gave up 13 points.
